Just flew Thicko's B5N Kate for first time, beautiful bird and performs well. Am curious, did the B5N really carry the torpedo off center to the starboard? I figured it was centered.Makes sense if bombs are off center, so bombardier can target using the window in the belly of the plane, assuming that was it's purpose.
 
The bombsite was in the middle and it you get detailed pics you can see the tube for it on the outside of the Kate.As you guessed the bombs would interfer with it if they were also in the middle.

One thing with the Thicko B5N Kate,the AI didn't attack with torpedoes when it first came out and I don't know it the fix was ever put in the d/l.

I noticed AI wingmen will not attack, but separate AI planes did.However, I used the OH B5N for AI planes and player plane is the Thicko B5N, did that as a work around.Unless someone happens to have the fix?

You have the fix already. Back up the Thicko B5N air files and give it the air files of the OH B5N for the sake of your wingmen. Make a separate copy of the Thicko B5N with the original air files and name it as "Thicko B5N Kate_player" or whatever for yourself.
 
Hey BC,

On the subject of AI bombers, is it better for them to have weapons drop in a salvo, or do they work well with dropping ordnance in separate groups? I want to configure AI dps for F-105s (D, F, and Gs) for my SEA install. I'm using AlphSim FS98 models, but have upgraded the aircraft.cfg and air files to CFS2 standards. Haven't done any test missions yet as I wasn't sure of the best way for them to drop Mk82s/M117s.

Keep in mind some AI jets have problems doing ground attacks.I do know that Talon fixed the F-80 and F-84 to do ground attacks for some of his missions that were never released.One of the factors was the jet had to go at least 300kts. He also did some air file and cfg file work to get them to attack. He also had the dp set dropping in groups of ordinance and salvo depending on how many targets there were.

Thank you for the info, this, along with what I've learned from Blood_Hawk23, gives me something to start with in regards to setting up dps.
