Beaver CRASH!

Glad everyone made it out of that mishap in fine form...other than the Beaver.

For those interested in my flying style...the video is pretty much a sequel to my screen shots.

OBIO

Damn....When it got to the end, that was so unbelievable that I was sitting there trying to figure out how that was cgi, and not real.................damn..........suppose the camera man needed a change of pants?

I hope that isnt Harrisons bird. Glad it didnt ignite. Looks like they all probably got through with just bruises. Very slow crash. Stalled right over grass.

If you watch, he was pulling up before the pontoons were able to get up on the step. At the last moment, while pulling back on the elevator, the back of the floats were plowing through the water as the plane was acting like a lever with them. You have to get up on the step before getting into flight or you fight the water on the bottoms of the floats....

eeks... :kilroy:

1. the audio is, of course, not great - but I'd swear it was running one jug short of a full compliment.
2. The short way across a lake isn't always the best route- but why he didn't turn completely down the channel... ?
3. If it was me with the video camera I'd have commenced MY departure a lot sooner. He almost got a great macro shot of a float.

All in all, I don't think his insurance company will like the accident report

So why exactly didn't the Beaver steer towards the narrow opening there in that second video? maybe it was too late????
