At the recent airshow in Olympia, there was this great looking de Havilland Beaver.

I was wondering if anybody might know of a similar repaint for the Aerosoft Beaver.

I've been searching the typical locations, but can't seem to find a nice, clean, and simple repaint for a privately owned Beaver.

Anybody got any suggestions.

Thanks

Considering I like that one also, I've got a suggestion. Although I don't have any payware DH Beavers. I would be interested in that particular repaint myself. In fact, I'll even offer to do the repaint if you find one that has a descent paint kit.
...And you'll have to grant me access to all them great photos again ;)

Here is one I did for a VA buddy. Aerosoft Beaver is the base for this one. If you like to have it I can remove his personalization and upload it.

If I had the Aerosoft Beaver myself I'd offer to do the Red/Cream one in the pictures...she's lovely indeed.

Stefan, yes I would like. :jump: Good looking plane.

I was also searching for the paint kit. I didn't find one with my install, but apparently there is one out there, somewhere. The name is AO_BEA_PAINT.zip, but its not anywhere I can find.

Thanks

Hmmm - seems like I haven't set my digital brushes on that one yet.
Please don't ask me why...
I do own the aircraft and the paint kit (a whopping 22 MB zipfile, hard to attach it to an email...), and the Forestry paint Richard digged out sure looks great (just a little too clean im my eyes...)!

Let's see what I could do about it... :jump:

Cheers,
Markus.

Cool! I tried the FSX to FS9 conversion, but I must have done something wrong with the ones I tried because it didn't work
I've done three so far and still am doing a few tweaks, but here's the process I've developed.

1. You only need to convert two files: DHC_1_T.dds and DHC_2_T.dds.
2. Open them with Bitmap Manipulator and invert them one at a time.
3. Check the alpha. I found a couple that I removed entirely. I'm going to redo these and see if I can just cut the alpha to something more acceptabile.
4. The final step is to save the files as DXT3 formats - BUT rename them. DHC_1_T should be saved as fuzel_t.bmp and DHC_2_T should be saved as wing_T.bmp.
5. Put them in the corresponding texture folder. Meaning, read the instructions and make sure they go with the proper model - amphib1, amphib2, etc.,
6. Copy the remaining texture files from another texture folder. One additional note. DHC_texture01_C.bmp is the file for you interior and there are several color variations. You may want to find out which are blue interiors vs. grey interiors vs. brown interiors, etc., to go with the new converted addon texture.
7. And the final step is add the entry to your aircraft.cfg and take a look at your work.

Happy hunting. :wiggle:

Keep up the good work guy's, it will be great to see some new Beaver repaints.

All the best

Folks WH has told me that the wings color might be wrong in the zips above...so hold off getting the textures. I'll need to do some checking.
