Beavers

What are you supposed to do with beavers these days? I love 'em -- elegant swimmers and constructors. Great for the re-establishment in New York. Crap's business in my small East Texas lake, though.
Application of capacities and availabilities ...

Hey JD,

I'm with you, bro.......BEAUTIFUL creatures that can do amazing things with the wood !!
Those Texas beavers can be a problem tho......high maintenance, very fickle and BIG !!
When I lived in the Texas hill-country I had a big one for a pet..........
...so big I had to tie a 5 ft. 2x4 across my butt whenever I fed it.

I'd go with the catch and relocate method. A big trap will cost you around $40 (see link ).
Make sure to use the right bait. A diamond ring works best but sometimes you can get away with zirconium.

Pesky Beavers

Round here we blow up the dams and trap out the beaver colony. If there is a local fur trapper he gets them if not Natural Resources will relocate them.
Every couple of years or so some highway gets flooded out. Bring on the dynamite!!!:rocket:

wynona's got herself a big brown beaver
and she shows it off to all her friends.
one day, you know, that beaver tried to leave her,
so she caged him up with cyclone fence.
along came lou with the old baboon
and said "do ya recognize that smell?"
"smells like seven layers,
that beaver eats taco bell."
now rex he was a texan out of new orleans,
and he travelled with the carnival shows.
he ran bumper cars, and sucked cheap cigars
and he candied up his nose.
well he got wind of the big brown beaver
so he thought he'd take himself a peek,
but the beaver was quick
and he grabbed him by the kiwis
now he ain't pissed for a week.
now wynona took her big brown beaver,
and she stuck him up in the air.
she said "i sure do love this big brown beaver
and i wish i did have a pair."
now the beaver once slept for seven days,
and it gave us all an awful fright.
so i tickled it's chin, and i gave it a pinch
and the ******* tried to bite me.
wynona loved her big brown beaver
and she stroked him all the time.
she pricked her finger one day and it occurred to her,
she might have a porcupine....

Sorry to hear this LD ... thats a sign of a well used beaver, poor thing.

I try to go with the lesser used ones ... saves on lumber costs at feeding time.

Are we talkin' bout girls, animals, or airplanes?

Don't really matter .... I guess...... all the same ............

Some of the best fun I ever had with my clothes on involved beaver dams and dynamite. :d

Cannot resist, sorry...a little punctuation, a little spelling:
Some of the best fun I ever had with my clothes off involved beaver, dams, and fireworks.

Talked with an animal control guy from the county who came to check out the lake -- Guess I thought they'd capture them and ship 'em off to Wisconsin or something, but he said they'd have to kill them. Thought to myself, '"well heck, I coulda done that!" So now we've got a county "revinoor" gunning after beavers on the farm. Guess we could call him off and keep on cleaning the spillway.
I'll never watch a talkin' beaver cartoon the same way again ...
Oh, and to get back to flying ...

I've been working over a Beaver pretty good the last few days. The DHC-2 kind that is. John Woodward's FS2004 wheeled and float equipped Beaver. New repaint template, tweaked MDL for better glass coloration and full reflective textures. New prop wash. Looks much better. The second pic in the link jbtate posted is the paint I am working on currently.
