Bell 222 helicopter project progress

euroastar350

SOH-CM-2023
Hi all,

Just posting some info on the Bell 222 helicopter project and where it stands. The fuselage, sponsons and tail sections all have been fully re-mapped with separate sections for each part. Remember Alan Devins original 222 and how impossible it was to repaint? Well this version will be alot more easier and friendly to paint as the belly, nose, upper engine cowling, fuselage, tailboom and tail surfaces each have there own separate mapping.

The only thing now thats pretty much left to do is re-adjusting all animated parts to there original locations and re-animations for those parts. Once done, I can put together a small beta for everyone to test out. Virtual cockpit work has not yet started and will hopefully be started once the exterior is done.

Now this is my first time I actually use gmax to texture map any model and I must say that I did a great job on it.

Here is a teaser shot with the new mapping in place. I am still in need of someone to do the 2-D panel/gauges and the 3-D gauges for the VC. Contact me if interested please.

That's looking great Euroastar :jump:

I'm sorry I can't help with the design process because I don't possess the skills required, but I can offer encouraging words during the build.

..... And the odd virtual beer or coffee. :ernae:

Pete.

The helicopter finally has its rotor in place, but not animated. Slowly but surely, this helicopter is going together. Since I am new to gmax, I wouldn't know where to start when it comes to animations...thats where I could use volunteers to help out with animations and such. Stay tuned for further progress on this beautiful helicopter.

Another update....
Put the interior and glass back in, minus the flight controls which I need to remap. Still waiting on the landing gear and rotor blur animations.
