Best fictional add-ons for FS9

I just came across the Nemeth Designs SA-2 for FSX (unfortunately :frown:) and it got me wondering; what are everyones recommendations for the best fictional aircraft for FS9. Rotorcraft would be my preference but I would consider anything a bit left-of-centre. I know I've seen a few fictional spacecraft but I'd prefer something that was designed to be flown below the stratosphere!

Cheers

There's a few for me...
Ito's SkyDiver, where the jet and submarine seprate...
SkyDiver-1.jpg

And this Thunderbird 2, where even the 'mole' drives out of the pod and burrows into the ground... I kid you not!

Plus the sister model Thunderbird 1

Oh and obviously anything by Ronnie pendercraft...

[SIZE=-1] FS2004 Wasp Personal VTOL Concept Craft. The FS2004 Wasp vertical takeoff personal commuter concept craft. Have you ever wodered how we might be getting to work in the future? What it would be like to take off from your driveway, take to the skies, cruise at 350 knots at 10,000 feet, begin your descent to your parking garage at work 100 miles away, land and lock up your vehicle? This is one concept of many for such a vehicle that would replace driving a car to work, and enabling getting to a far away work place in just minutes. The ReadMe file is very important for learning to take off and land in this bit of wild technology. Includes working VTOL swiveling ducted thrusters, animated control surfaces, retracting landing gear, opening canopy, a basic VC, and four flavors of colors to choose from. Modeled in Gmax by William Ortis, Lionheart Creations Ltd. (See also WSPUDT.ZIP)

FS2002/FS2004 Falcon 2.0 Concept Executive Helo. The Falcon Mark II is a twin turbine ultra high end biz concept helo. Have you ever wondered what a business helo would look like years from now, and what features it would incorporate? This is a concept under development for some time now. In theory, it is designed with a double mounting system for the main rotor to negate rotor 'hop' cabin bounce. Also featured is the incorporation of furniture within the cabin including two walls for seperate meeting room compartments as well as the cockpit in front. This is designed to be the Lear Jet of helos, the best you could buy, a jet you can land on a building and have the creature comforts of a top of the line biz-jet. This is an elaborate Gmax model with such features as opening doors both inside and outside, dynamic shine and reflection textures in four colors which now include black, retracting landing gear, a virtual interior. Requires the Dolphin HH365 helo panel by Antti Pankkonnen. Modeled in Gmax by William Ortis, Lionheart Creations Ltd.

Bill did some great fictional aircraft! Still love his 'Disco Volante' and the F-136!

Piglet did a few great fictional aircraft, including his own 'Sus scrofa' designs and a few Star wars birds. Pendercraft models are excellent too, and I remember a few models by 'Rilo'; I think those can be found at Simviation?

Ito did some cool Japanese Anime stuff too.

They are for FS2002 by Ken Bertschy and Brian Douglas (tbird1.zip and tbird_2.zip.) And who could forget Captain Scarlet and UFO series? Some craft from those are out there as well. The dropship from Aliens2 and DeepEyes from Final Fantasy I tried long ago but had a hard time flying them so kind of forgot about them.

Also forgot, try searching under WoWAir for some different stuff.

Gerry Anderson's stuff was always so cool! I didn't get to see Captain Scarlet or Joe 90, but I was a huge Thunderbirds, UFO, and Space 1999 fan. His team's model making skills made me and my glue covered fingers weep with envy, not just over the vehicles but the incredible sets they created as well (anyone remember the amazing underground launch bay for Thunderbird 1 with the mobile launcher?)

Anybody ever see "Journey to the Far Side of the Sun"? More incredible Gerry Anderson stuff there - especially the launch vehicle, gantry, and complex as well as the Phoenix and Doppelganger spacecraft.

I came across a very interesting site featuring some superb space and SF model building and model photography.

N,

Indeed, Piglet made some of the best Sci-Fi aircrafts in FS9 !!
I strongly recommend his StarWars vehicules
- the flying car from Episode II
- Obiwan's early Tie-fighter-style aircraft
- the Snowspeeder
- the YWing
- the Naboo N-1 fighter from episode I
They look fantastic and they have excellent clickable virtual cockpit with specific gauges !
AND they work flawlessly in FSX too :jump:

I'm kind of partial to Ito's Veritech Fighter. Flaps cycles between jet mode, GERWALK and robot modes:

This airplane is based on the Japanese TV and movie animation "Super Dimension Fortress MACROSS". This model is Roy Fokker Special of U.N.SPACY. This can transform into three kinds of form (Gerwalk <--- Fighter ---> Valkyrie), though there is a limitation. By Kazunori Ito.

[SIZE=-1]I also like Kevin Bryan's 'Unreal Aviation' series as well. The Bushman autogyro that ThinkingManNeil pointed out is one of my favorites too.:ernae:

Generally speaking, when looking for SciFi addons for FS9, the best place to browse must be the "FS2004 Misc" section at Simviation.com:
http://simviation.com/1/browse-Misc-35-0
It does not contain only SciFi stuff, but there are many SciFi addons in it, easy to spot with the thumbnails :wavey:

While not sci-fi (though definitely fictitious) I have a warm spot in my heart for Eugene Heyart's Stratojet Albatross. It combines the speed of a business jet with the versatility of an amphibian, and has some really nice STOL capabilities to boot!

FS2004 Stratojet Albatross; final version for FS2004. The Stratojet Albatross is a fictitious amphibious multipurpose aircraft. This plane unifies comfortable and fast business jet, amphibious plane, bush plane and cargo transport in one single aircraft. It is very easy to fly, can take off and land everywhere, is very fast and has a long range too. Features dynamic virtual cockpit, six liveries, reflective textures, opening doors, full moving parts, panel with custom gauges. By Eugene Heyart. (Previous version had 3731 downloads.)

His Stratojet Chronos -- which looks like something Clarence "Kelly" Johnson would have designed had he worked for Bill Lear instead of Lockheed -- is also a nifty fictional aircraft. Doesn't have the amphibious capability of the Albatross, but it more than makes up for it with the Mach 3.5 top speed.

JohnR, those images are priceless man!!!! Awesome....!

Loved most of those shows and had the models as well.

That Eagle from Space1999 was brilliant. I had many models of the Eagle series.

I remember my own little VTOL. That was quite a long time ago, before I learned about making nice VC's. I plan to make some more in the fictional prototype series.

The Albatross and Chronos have been mentioned, but there's two others that also deserve mention - and not because they're my personal Heyart fav's!
