BETWEEN HEAVEN and HELL: PREVIEW MOVIE 10

When a game has "gone gold"... that essentially means beta testing is over, and disks are ready to be burned.

Note to Dantes: ROF? Und vat ist dis ROF? :icon_lol:

The Se5a really does look like that in BHAH .... very nicely upgraded model, skins and VC ;)

This ain't no stinkin' game any more ..... by jove chaps this is real :icon_eek:. Dogfights are no longer a doddle ! Prepare thyself ! 17 hours just got a whole lot longer ....

Was it my poor eye sight, or has the gunsite ring on the 'Viper' gotten smaller. I'm surprised you were able to stay aloft, as long as you did :applause:

Dantes:

Thanks for the response. RoF looks pretty, sure 'nuf. But got a feeling those graphics are going to come with quite a CPU/vid card price tag. Also, not much is being said about the gameplay at their website. Also, no in-game vids, etc. Still a long ways to go before release, me thinks.

BUT...

Heard tell that OFF has gone GOLD!!!

Now ain't that sumpthin'! :wiggle: :applause: :jump: :mixedsmi: :icon_lol:

Dear POL

Unfrotunately the poor bloke in the SE5a ( wasn't Catch was it) was unfamiliar with the Boeleke doctrine, thus admiring the unfortunate German plunge to his death, ensured his own:isadizzy:

RoF well at least we'll have something new to play with while we wait for P3. As I'm sure it will be done before P3 is released. :icon_lol: Seriously guys are you still finding a lot of issues with P3 that need to be fixed before it's released? It's been my experience that no matter how much testing that is done, a small group of beta testers is not going to discover the majority of the problems with a new release. I think that's why most new releases are at some point given over to open beta before being called gold to get the game in the hands of as many different users and systems as possible to find all the problems. Pol the video looks great as usual. It however raises a thought. In nearly every video Pol does he gets his a$$ waxed by the bad guys. Is this because the new AI is that good or is Pol just a bad flyer :costumes: Hopefully the former.
Seriously guys release P3, we understand there is no way it'll ship error free. We'll find the things that need fixing and won't even mind paying for the pleasure of doing it.

Thanks,
Scott

I am still waiting patiently (I think) for Phase 3 and from what I can see from the videos it is going to be worth waiting for.

My use of the phrase "from what I can see" is used advisedly. Am I being led to assume, at least from the last 2 videos, that WWI was fought mainly at night and in driving rain? :blind:

PS I note that since I joined this forum in 2005, I am credited with but 1 post. Are all of the other posts I've made not worth considering?

Pol loves dark sombre days to feel more into it lol but there is a historical weather mode that sees the weather exactly (well near as dammit) as it was for the entire war including rained off days....(you will not fly and time advances to another day)

WM

Aye weather really was that bad mostly - imagine having a real 100 mph wind and rain to deal with whilst you get shot at... I record video, if something great happens it happens I can't then go back and change the weather ;)

Er yeah British_eh I'm not flying to stay alive and avoiding combat mostly, as that would be a DULL movie ;)

I'm looking around to save my behind, and at the same time show you the viewer what is going on. If I ever get to fly without videoing maybe I'll fly better :)

However that situation was something I had no control over, we got pounced, we got creamed, and in WW1 that's what may have happened - you are not in control. That's the point, as we posted in the reports from the front thread... you can minimise risk etc but I can feel that sense of no control now, we all think we are super human and "it won't happen to me" well this makes you think some. Salute to those boys. I survived the crash landing anyway but was captured.

If you find it too hard you can always dial in some easy settings :)

ja mein Freund POL

:costumes: just a cynics idea of humor, at your pilots expense:d. Tell me, were those DR1's, couldn't quite tell, they were too quick:applause:

It looks like it will be an arduous journey to 17 minutes, let alone 17 :isadizzy:hours

The contest will of course be on, with such notables as Gimpy Guy and Catch 22 vying for the first ones to make such claims:kilroy:

Cheers,

Hi Pol, I don't doubt it, it's just that Sandbagger has made an excellent movie as yours have been . It does show off to very good effect the Trackir4 system which I have recently bought especially for Phase 3.

Yep sure does, I use TIR4 too as we all do. If you notice I look around a fair bit watching my rear get fried...

I had another lined up to show all the cool effects but Mike's shows it off well so I'll hold on to that for another day :)
