• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

But small town atmosphere is where it's at...

My hometown has an annual art fair in downtown where they actually shut down the Main Street through town. The old man & my brother both had some paintings on display and I think next year they will havea booth to sell paintings.

Amen!

I go to the grocer and the butcher will fry me up a catfish sandwich while we talk.

Two weeks ago the town showed one of the latest vampire movies in a park after dark. The bloodmobile was there for donors.

When we first arrived, we were meeting with a bank manager and asked if there was a dry cleaner in town where we could get some cloths pressed overnight. They apologized because it was on the other side of town...a mile away. The owner of the dry cleaner met us at the door because the bank had called and told them we were coming.

Heavy traffic is three cars arriving at a four way stop at the same time.

The folks at the Post Office are friendly and know your name.

You can point your car in any direct and be in peaceful country side in minutes.

If you need something in the big city (in our case Indianapolis), it's a short drive away; rush hour in Indianapolis is like 9PM in Seattle.
