One on of the fish keeping forums that I visit from time to time, a guy has to Arapima. Young ones. One is 7 feet, and the other is pushing 9. The last I read, he was in the process of building a larger tank to keep them in...something in the 15,000 gallon range. Would like to have a Arapima, but simply can't afford to build an Olympic sized swimming pool to keep it in.

It's amazing how we destroy some of the world's aquatic wonders.

I've seen sturgeon caught in the St. Lawrence River that measured over 8 feet long. Thankfully there's been a ban on fishing for them.
