Black Square Duke Released 5/10

Anyone having trouble turning on the autopilot. I'm using the PMS GTN and the autopilot will not turn on.

Lou, check your key and controller bindings to see if your A/P is on a Momentary Switch setting. I have had issues with some models needing certain function switches to be binded on separate switch functions (on or off, not dual on/off on a single switch) on my controllers. Of course it may be a bug with the PMS GTN but it won't hurt to look into what I mentioned.

Never mind, call me daft. Turned on the "pitch trim" (autopilot master??) and all is fine. Thanks anyway.

Pulled from Avsim:
"For those that mentioned they are stuck in heading mode or can’t get the autopilot to work, be sure the pitch trim switch is in the correct position. Had the same issue and realized that was switched off when it should have been on."

Not sure what the 'correct position" is but I can turn the AP on ok, although it is a bit quirky.
I found I couldn't get it to descend to a lower altitude set vis the Altitude dial, until I hit ATT [It was on ALT & wouldn't cancel off that], but ATT then down trim per the RHS little Pitch switch got it descending, just be fairly subtle on the pitch adj .

Anyone flying the Turbo & using the TDS GTNXi GPS & finding the aircraft will not follow the Magenta Line with AP On & NAV engaged? (GPS is on too, not VLOC)
Had 2 flights like that this morning.
Going to try the PMS GTN & see if that works ok.

Don’t forget the switch to actually enable the AP servos. I forget what it is labeled at the moment, but it is just to the left and a little higher than the AP pedestal. A silver on/off toggle similar to the prop sync.

I have 12 hours in both the piston and turbine Dukes, and I must say I love them both.
As usual I find the Turbines boring….they work, they are quick …… but the engine management is simply not challenging at all.
The pistons have the best engine analyzer simulation I have seen in any aircraft.
And the overall pilot involvement with the engine operation, is simply entertaining for the usual flights I make.

Cheers
Sunny
