Blackpool Airport

It's a bit sad that Blackpool airport is set to close next week. It's one of the oldest in the U.K (if not the oldest?) but unfortunately it has very little commercial traffic. It was on the news that passengers flying out from Blackpool were being charged an "airport development fee" despite the fact that they would be returning to a different airport!
I feel another housing estate coming on.

Total shame... Blackpool was where I first started my flying lessons.... seems so long ago now :( Always remembered the Vulcan outside, and sitting at the air ambulance FBO (my Dad was their boss)

Memories... but useless for commercial ops.

I hope a lot of the newer fields around close tbh... way too many comercial fields everywhere and too much cat C airspace in the UK.... Get a budget flight to Malaga? Get cat C and add 'International' To your name! its getting stupid...

so swings and roundabouts on my position!
