• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Blue Angels picture,subsonic,Oct.12,2008 request

I have been working on this effect for some time now. If you don't mind I would like to copy and paste this post in our forums. There you might a answer. I know more then half our members are always at Pensacola for the Blues practices and I'm sure they have some great shots of the shock cone your looking for.

Thunder, those pics are from different San Francisco Bay airshows. Open the page on either link, yours or mine, and locate the link to " More: Off-Airport - San Francisco" in the lower right beneath the pics. This will open up a multipage list of other shots from the different years airshows. Hope you find what you need there. :ernae:

Dont forget tho that the weather is key into getting a good shock cone. They are best from what I hear in Pensacola this time of year on to the end of the show season.

Please not I am not the author of these pics but rather just did a google search of "Blue Angel shock cone"

One Fleet Week I was sailing at Coyote Pt. just south of KSFO and the Blues did two passes over head. I was out there for a high school race but the race was called because the winds were blowing 25kts gusting to 35kts so a lot of the other boats had gone in but the kid I was sailing with along with another boat that we were friends with toughed it out and got rewarded with a rather low, impressive and quick show. I may not like bugs but the Blues are always impressive no matter the plane.
