Hello Huub,

Marcel,

After looking at the pictures on "airliners" I wonder whether you blue is perhaps a bit too bright.
http://www.airliners.net/search/pho...=Sud SA-316B Alouette III&distinct_entry=true
The official name of the colour is "Royal blue" and sadly I have been able to find far to many rgb values for this colour.
Cheers,
Huub

Know what you mean, the perfect colour is difficult to get right in FSX. Also the real photo's give lot of different blue's and different light conditions.
Also the reflections make it hard to get a good and average RGB value of the photo's.

All the detail work is done now, will take a final look if and how i can adjust the blue colour.

Regards,

Marcel

PS The "official" colour should be RAL5010 hoog glans, which gives lots of shades if you look it up on google... <g>

I must admit that if faced with 'Royal Blue', I would use RAF roundel blue BS 381c 110, equating to RGB 71,94,112; although Simmers paintshop show a Royal Blue as BS381c 106 equating to 38,48,66. The blue shown on the helicopter I would associate with what the French Air Force use as Blue.
I have two monitors of different make & age & I cannot make them identical to my eyes, so I tend to use my original older monitor as my master!

Thanks Marcel, I also noticed the model, complete with spec and bump maps displays the colours a bit brighter than the colours actually applied. So you need to "play" with them a bit.
Personally I like the blue shade with the values R0-G35-B102 a lot.

But so far your repaint looks absolutely brilliant! :encouragement:

Yes!!! Another Dutchie rotor

Yes, I was also doing this one. But in fact I also had the trouble with the color blue. But when I saw this one earlier, I put it in the hangar.
Looking forward to it. Together with the SAR it brings us back to these fine years of our KLu.

regards John

It's the end!

Marcel,

It's the end (Het is het einde=Dutch) and also a wellknown Dutch song.

in a more photo-real look.
