Boeing 707 for MSFS??

I've seen a couple of YT videos on the subject aircraft, probably a conversion from FSX.
However, I can't locate a downloadable version anywhere
Anyone know if a D/L exists & where?

It looks like the video maker converted an FSX model to MSFS, but has not released it to the general public.
Possibly because he may not have had permission to convert it.
In the early days of MSFS, someone converted the M. Jahn DC-3 to FSX, [without permission], then released quite a few YT videos flying it in MSFS.
Quite frustrating at the time as there was a demand for the DC-3, but he did not make it available to other flyers.

I wouldn't worry about it. That video proofs two things:

#1.Not only the subject but also the model stems from the late 1950's.

#2.You just cannot stop wondering why on earth somebody would bother to convert this thing to MSFS.

I think it is safe to say we can forget about Captain Sim (i still think it's a pity..) but don't you think there's no doubt we're getting a good 707 in MSFS sooner or later ?... Like the 747 (and 737 too of course) it's an icon, first ever highly successfull jetliner. Can we have a PZL An-28/M28 Bryza and not an aviation icon like the Boeing 707 ??... I highly doubt that.

Sure a ton more work compared to a AN-28 but i suppose also a ton more profit. What's in the middle of a DC-6 and a 747 ?... Right, a 707. PMDG whaddaya say ? Fat chance possibly but there's more where PMDG comes from, right ?

Aerosoft, Asobo/Microsoft, Blackbird Simulations, Bluebird Simulations (currently developing a 757, looks fantastic), FSLabs, Inibuilds, Just Flight (747 classic), Simworks/FSReborn (doing a 727 as we speak) to name a few devs that may just be in the market for a good looking and flying Boeing 707.

I mean we need to keep the faith, won't we.

Hmmm..... Unfortunately ?... I wonder, Twice..

A (full blown) conversion of an FSX WWII bird or GA aeroplane into MSFS could be the right thing to do if there's a demand for it. For an icon like the 707 the only way to go is to start from scratch as native MSFS. Otherwise it may turn out like we've seen with the Boeing 314 debacle recently. That would be really ashame, wouldn't it. ( and that was supposed to be 'full blown' but the're still blowing... there's just no end to it.. ;-)

FSX is history (that's why it is called 'Historic Jetliners Group'... ) and i, for one, think it's a good thing for HJG not to go the Pilot's way of messing about with an old FSX model to force it into MSFS just to make a quick buck. I know HJG is all freeware but, correct me if i'm wrong, all their vintage jetliner models still have just the 2D panel to fly them. So that'll mean for HJG to create a Virtual Cockpit in the first place.

That's a heap of a lot of work for it to go with an old FSX external model.... It would be like putting a brand new engine and gearbox in an old and rusty Ferrari body and chassis. A very unfortunate decision if you ask me.

I loved the HJG aircraft back in the day. But from what I remember the HJG developed for FS9, they never upgraded to FSX Native so you could run in P3D. Hard to imagine them upgrading to MSFS.

Would gladly buy a good Caravelle, 707, 727-100, 727-200, 747, L-1011, 737-200, 737-300, got the Airbus 320 and 321. Worked on all of them as a cabin superviser. Not this kind of 707...

If plane looks like a 707 and flies like a 707, I can have fun with it even if it doesn't replicate every fuse or hydraulic line in exacting detail or have breathtaking graphic quality. I'm sad that the MSFS audience is gatekeeping so enthusiastically that we'll never see some of the esoteric aicraft of the past.

But yeah, HJG isn't a likely source considering they never even brought their planes up to 2007 standards. But I'd love to see a follow-on group! When I flew 707s, 727s, Convair 580s, etc. in earlier sims they didn't have MSFS levels of detail but I somehow managed to have a lot of fun experiencing the golden age of air travel.

(Also, the Pilot's 314 has improved markedly since launch and continues to do so on a weekly basis.)

Yes, 100% with you regarding systems but I like a good graphic quality.

I mean, I love good graphic quality too! But if I could have Alphasim P3D-level graphics and that would mean I could have a F4D Skyray, F3D Skywarrior, Convair 580, F7U Cutlass, F-94 Starfire, and any host of other classic planes that aren't really high on anyone's marketing list, I'd be happy to settle.

As far as I remember, HJG was only bringing in plane with 2D cockpits, no virtual cockpits.
While I understand your preference of a "simple" model over "no model at all", the problem is that such a "simple" model, if released on the market, would get all the sales, preventing a higher fidelity developer from getting nice revenues from a similar plane with greater details and realism.

Now, if we're talking about freeware stuff, then it's ok.
But I'm definitely not interested to see any FSX/P3D-ish Alphasim kind of stuff on the payware market.

Totally agree. The entire sim community as a whole doesn't want the same thing. Some, but not all, want "study" quality models now.Not everyone wants to sit at a gate for 20 minutes and program a flight. Some prefer outside or Superman views to take screenshots and enjoy the surrounding scenery rather than every switch, breaker and dial replicated and workable. There is, and always has been, a market for a diverse selection of aircraft and aircraft quality. Many people just enjoy the painting rather than the flying. Look at the GREAT selections for just the 135 / 707 / 720 / 727 variants! If someone brought them back, they would be welcomed by many. Let's also toss in the old Convair, Martins, Douglas, Lockheeds, too! We can talk about the GA like the Queen-Airs and Beech 18 variants as well later.

This is one reason I continue to learn how to import my old favorites. So I can still enjoy my favorite old birds in the amazing surroundings which are part of MSFS.

Meanwhile, my biggest wish list for MSFS includes:

1. easy scenery tool (like the old F1 EZ scenery)
2. an AICarriers-like tool (so I can get my ships going where I want them to go)
3. an easy AI creation (so I can create air shows and other oddities to watch from the sidelines)

Here's hoping.
