Bomber Command Raid Berlin 23/24September 1940

SOH-CM-2025
I'm testing my historical missions for this raid. To quote Middlebrook, this was a unique raid for this period of the war. BC decided to concentrate its main strength against one city only; Berlin. 129 Hampdens, Whitleys, and Wellingtons attacked 18 separate targets, Apparently the results are missing from German records! However there was ground mist and multiple searchlights making life difficult, especially at that time of the war, so my missions probably indicate a better success rate than reality. these pictures are from my testing of the Hampden and Whitley player missions. Wellington still to test.

The Whitley was hit by flak before reaching its target. I had to bail out!

The searchlights were pretty intense!
