Boomerang: a few more W.I.P. pics

Just thought I'd give you a look at one of the other liveries, this of 5 Squadron during the fighting on Bougainville in 1945, plus a look at the modern/old cockpit you can choose from (at any time) in case you'd like to be flying your carefully restored Boomerang warbird to an airshow somewhere rather than being back in WWII. :)

The modern cockpit has GPS, radio and transponder, and you can have just the GPS alone, or just the radio panel, or both.

I'll also try to put an exchangeable gauge poly in there so that owners of third-party avionics can also use their own equipment if the so choose.

Getting there, ever so slowly.... :)

Mike

Superb modeling inside and out, Mike ! :applause::applause::applause:

We couldn't have HSI/VOR instead of GPS, couldn't we..... ? :wiggle:

Cheers,
Jan

By golly this beauty is looking sooooo sweet! Just can't get enough of the screenshots. :)

Is there any chance to see a reflector gun sight in front of that wondelful panel?:jump:

As the vast majority of Boomerangs had them removed, and as I wanted to make just a couple of representative models, this was a good way to save on the poly count as well. So, for now, no gunsight.

If enough people like the Boomer, and framerates are good for everybody (and initial testing says the fps are excellent), then it could be that one will be added that has a gunsight as well. :)

Hi Jan. Well, if the gauge poly ends up in there, you can certainly add your own HSI/VOR! The GPS will only show up if you select it, so will remain absent unless you choose to put it in there.

Understood. Thanks!

Looks great. Still enjoying your ME262s and the Super Cub - cant wait to buy and fly this one :salute:

Thanks, guys. There's still a lot to do in terms of xml, so completion will take a while longer....

The Boomerang will be coming with working two-stage boost, as per the real aircraft, complete with the required engine management during operations. The Boomer should also have working cannon and machine gun effects, complete with the protective canvas covers over the machine guns holes that get blown open when you fire the guns. All that, and more. :)

(Pic is just me having fun with Photoshop. :) )

Just the usual monthly bump to see if there is anything new to be seen or spoken of. :)

Good thinking!

Out of the many pending releases - this is the one I most want to buy and fly :jump:

Beta 3 went out today. :)

Right now it's the armament system that's being worked on, with good progress. The pilot-operated two-stage blower is working extremely well, just need tweaking to match hp to altitudes. The inertial starter will be right after the armament systems. The xml stuff always takes time, even with Wozza's magic touch. You'll also need your engine management skills! Models themselves are basically complete, although it's hard to say that as they'll be tweaked up until release.

That's where it's at! :)

Well done Mike. Will there be a repaint kit or will be covering most schemes?
