Boomerang: small VC update

mike_cyul

SOH-CM-2025
Just thought I'd bring you up to date on VC progress. Have been focussing mostly on the artwork, and so there are still many small parts left to texture and to make. Canopy still needs a lot of work. Throttle quadrant, canopy rails, the bright green bits are not textured yet - slowly getting there!

Instruments don't have glass or needles yet.

The next time I post screenshots will probably be when the VC is finally done, but at least until then this will show you where it's going! :)

Paint scheme is temporary (although real, except for the "WIP" part!), depicting an aircraft of 83 Squadron, but will be doing a white-tailed 5 Squadron aircraft version as it appeared on Bougainville during the fighting there, plus others....

:)

Mike,

That is some phenomenal work. What a meticulous job you've done on the VC. Just outstanding. This'll be one to watch for sure. I believe you'll have another hit on your hands when this is released.:salute:

It's looking beautifull Mike. The VC detail is great, makes me want to hop right in.

Looking real good so far. This one is on my ever growing list of a/c to get when released.:salute:
Thanks for the update.

*drools over a perfectly good keyboard*

That is brilliant work!!! Can't wait for this!!

A true work of art !
Here are some pictures of the Boomerang, I found in the french magazine "Aero journal" of this month. The article says the Boomerang is the only WWII fighter that has not shot down any enemy airplanes.
Its main mission was to hunt japanese snipers, hence the nickname "Tree Top Fighter".
I am just discovering this beautiful airplane.
The last picture shows a different exhaust pipe shape.
I am glad Mike, you are working on it for FSX, knowing the very high quality of your past released.
CLICK THE PICTURE FOR FULL SIZE PIX.

The package will have aircraft with both exhausts. :)

Plus, an interchangeable lower instrument panel (done via click), containing a modern radio and transponder (and perhaps GPS), for travelling in FSX if you happen to be going to an airshow or just need them for whatever reason.

Btw, the VC shots were updated again on the website. Just scroll to the bottom, where it says "VC". http://www.flight-replicas.com/Boomerang_WIP.htm

Really fantastic work. :ernae:

First a P-36 I cannot afford, now this. :frown: It's a pain being broke!

Beautiful work Mike, I'm having a hard time keeping pennies in the bank, but I like that.

Ouch... that hurt... (Jaw just dropped, bounced off keyboard, fell to the left over the desk edge, hit the chair leg, richoetted over and hit the lamp stand...)

Goodness Mike! When did you start this? That VC is brilliant! Nice work man!

:ernae:
