BOONAH! preview of freeware scenery

SOH-CM-2022
I know this is the combat flight center so a small GA field 90km SW of Brisbane, Australia may not seem like it fits here but have a look at the pic. There's a spitfire replica! Hope that counts. I mean, how many sceneries are there with static spitfires?

Hopefully I should be releasing this next week sometime.

Includes about 9 square km of photoreal blending with the FTX payware textures so there should be enough there to do circuits in. (The airfield is at the end of the dirt road running up the centre of the pic)

There's a glider club, ultralight club (the Flying Tigers) and a couple of flight schools/charter operators. A pretty busy little airport all in all with approx 50-70 aircraft movements each day of the weekend.

Lots of custom models including the fellas enjoying the view. (Even the cars have Queensland rego plates)

Wow terrific work! Us scenery designers sure appreciate the details. Will be looking out for this one!:ernae:

Nice work and GA airfields are right at home here also. Love the detail in the textures and good job with the autogen annotater.

Nice, I wish those tree were everywhere in the FS world! :ernae:

Same here Bob I wish the whole fs default looked like that, but poor people like me can not afford such luxuries as a well built 4 core comp, I only use a dell 4600, with a nvidia 7600 and I keep up with most people, I just think If I had a £1500 quid system I'd be laughing unfortunately while my pay is enough to afford it I must support my family as well. I don't have to support them I just like too lol plus I love my beer also and the first gen ORBX wrecked my fsx, thats before everyone told me to upgrate it like so in the end it was my fault and not orbx's .. I think I better shut up and go to bed its 5.45am here, and I'm drunk!
Regards Pete!

Really nice work. How will it look for those of us without FTX?

Thanks.

I just had a look with the default FSX textures. The trees will look different and the photoreal clashes really badly in Summer and Fall but Winter and Spring aren't too bad (not perfect but kind of acceptable).

Oh and I forgot. The kangaroos past the end of the runway:

Mr. "Antony31,"

Looks like a nice little place to pickup "FS Chicks" for a "virtual" date and Kangaroo's for a ride. :icon_lol:
Very well done; waiting for the release; Bravo!:applause:

I, especially, like that "lived-in" look in this photo...

Is it in AU Gold or Blue?

Looks great! Though if I owned that Spit, doubt Id be leaving it out in the elements for too long :)

Boonah is in AU Gold region about 80km west of the Gold Coast and 70km SSW of Brisbane and if you have OZx3.0 there are about 30 airstrips within a 100km radius of the airstrip. Perfect GA flying especially if you have the A2A cub as one of the flight schools has a red Savage Cruiser (that's the aircraft left most in the line of three in the top left of the 3rd pic).
