Having removed AI Carriers it is now back to normal. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon or know the answer?I'm running Vista 32 with administrator rights.

Thanks for the info. I have tested Java as you suggested and it is working and up to date.

Ai carriers as far as I can see,cannot cause your pc to boot slow, it only runs when fsx starts. It has no services running in the background. it is called by exe.xml when fsx is run, i dont think it even installs Java, interesting though.

Thanks MJRHealth, my thoughts entirely. In the meantime I have been experimenting and discovered that Spybot clashes with Mcaffee. I know this is a known issue but until recently there had been no adverse issues on my system.
Removing AIcarriers as it was the last program added seemed logical and indeed seemed to cure matters. However no sooner said than done and Mcaffe does an automatic update in the background and I'm suddenly back to square one with the boot up issue.
So I have removed Spybot which is a pity as I really rate it and the problem is cured. Also I have reinstalled AIcarriers and so far all seems well.

Iuse adaware,hasnt caused me any issues yet, although if i run a full scanit wants to delete few flles i know are ok. One day thyemay get these things right. Stoped using spybot ages ago.
