Boston III question

Does anybody know who owns the various parts of the Boston? I know Ed Wilson made the visual model, but what about the FM and DM? I have vague plans...

Ted, you don't know what you're letting yourself in for! :icon_lol: Do you have the source file?

No

No, don't have these. I'll gladly look a one or two. Please send me what you have including the current air and xdp files.

I don't have it either - therein lies the rub... Nor does John. I hoped you might! So it looks as though it's lost unless someone got it off Ed's hard drive in time.

Blast.

The FM and DM files I have are issue ETO, so you'll already have them.

No joy

It is an old CFS2 model ported over and revised to work in CFS3. It is the old FDG flight group's plane. What is the issue with the plane? Making a new fm and dp are not a big deal unless you want more than 1 or 2. Ok, what version do you want DB-7?

TK

DB-7 with P&W R-1830-SC3G engines. That appears to be what the majority of the aircraft actually delivered had. Single stage superchargers, rated at 910bhp at 11,550ft.

And as the source file has gone, that'll have to do. I think they had substantially less armour too, but until I actually know what and where, it'll have to do as it is. I've already changed the guns to MAC1934s. That was the easiest bit of the conversion!

The source file for the later A-20G by FDG was in the download files under "Other". It might be convertible to the earlier versions

Thanks - though to be honest, I've heard from a couple of GMAX masters that in the end, it's less trouble doing the whole aircraft from scratch than it is converting one from the earlier sims. Going through all that all over again...

Plus, while it's a very good aircraft in CFS2 terms, in CFS3, the same model doesn't live up to expectations. Now, if we could convince a real GMAX wizard to build us a new one and keep only the mapping...! I won't hold my breath, though.
