Hey All,
I saw a lot of that race but I was watching curling (master's in Selkirk Manitoba) at the same time - more action in the curling - since the girl who's team won my wife knows personally. Anyway what is this the 10th or so time mercedes has finished 1 2? So Hamilton beat the one other driver that could - but not really - challenge him. It was really clear who had the better car. So on to brazil.

Hey All,
I've no problem with the results - they are what they are. The bottom line is who wants to watch two guys fighting for 10th or don't you get that. Did this race have you sitting on the edge of your seat like the NASCAR race? When you allow absolute inequality in teams you get this. If this is what you want - fine.

1) Yes, it did have me on the edge of my seat. (Lewis vs Nico)
2) I was watching football during NASCAR and switched back only sporadically.
3) Check the 1975 results - there has ALWAYS been inequality in teams in F1
Sounds to me like you don't like F1....If you don't like it fine but please stop continuously injecting negativity towards those of us who like the sport just to be argumentative.

Might I point out that James Hunt was driving a car completely financed, designed, built and run with no sponsorship by a 'privateer' in that season.
I find it odd that a person like EasyEd who (IMHO) seems to be an open minded and intelligent man on many and varied subjects (based on posts in other forums) to be so blinkered on anything but NASCAR.
Shame that I've found it necessary to put him on my ignore list, if we were all sitting around in a pub the atmosphere would probably be different.
Bench Racing and a decent beer ('Redback' for me!) is always a great way to pass the time.

If that race had you sitting on the edge of your chair - you must have a chair with no depth. There is no way Hamilton was going to lose that race once past Nico unless the car died. If that has you on the edge of your seat worrying about that - so be it.
I don't have blinders on relative to NASCAR - NASCAR certainly has it's problems. This chase format for example - some of the forums I've looked at (not a member) are 100% as divided as Democrats and Republicans are in politics over whether or not this is a good way to go. It appears to be popular. I said in another thread that I decided I don't like the lack of ability to overcome a bad race and so I think am not in favor of this system. Yet it is apparently popular. What will happen next year is anybody's guess.

I didn't denigrate anybody or F1 with what I said. That race was decided when Hamilton passed Nico and Nico could not catch up. If you like that fine I fully respect that. I prefer more up front action and am in no way saying if you don't like up front action you are wrong. If I want to say something is wrong or inferior I will say so directly as I did when somebody denigrated a form of racing because of the fans of that racing.
Now you can choose to be the kind of person who looks for insult in every word everyone says and then nobody better ever say anything at all. In this case what you think I mean't I never mean't. Be the kind of person who looks for the worst in everybody if you choose. I'm not.
The mods here have the right to tell everybody to never express an opinion but I assume it would apply to everyone. It wopuld then be an insult to other drivers fans to say "Great win by Hamilton" meaning your driver is KKRRAAPP. Right? Did you mean it that way?

You obviously have missed my other posts to where I've stated that I like Nico also. This goes back to when Lewis was at McLaren, I still liked Nico. Now given a choice between one, I'm going to choose Lewis. But like I stated earlier, I like Nico as well.
And if Lewis was out of the championship, you can bet your bottom dollar that I would cheering Nico (along with Ricciardo) along...
