I think there are freeware versions of most of the above. You could either rename the folders or use Morton's utility tool to swap them out

the junkers are older models. would be nice to have them updated. Actually what i REALY need is a new Hanriot HD-1.

Well, I have now completed Hondschoote. that just leave Veurne(Furne) and Proven, for the Allies.

Oh and i have to redo Les Moeres. I'll make it into an emergency field. shorten it up and change the GSL to match. I'll leave the refuel area in.

These are taking a bit longer to do. i'm following actual photos of the airfields and having to match the details the best i can. not easy when some photos are hard to place. some look like they were developed wrong. they look like the negitive was backwards. it could be the lens on those old cameras.

Western front Update

Well i haven't updated this thread in a few days so here i go.

I have now completed all of the Allied bases in north eastern France and the Belgium area.

Western Front METARs

I'm compiling a list of ICAOs for use with FSMETARs. it will cover the western front. i'll also list the current bases that are near those ICAOs.

if i can get a complete airfile.dat for ETO i'll do a second list for WWII.

If anyone is interested let me know and i'll send you the first copy.

I have just finished Gistel Aerodrome. That leaves Ichtegem-Vijver, Rumbeke and Halluin. Then my Belgian scenery will be finished.

I'm going to try to get them done soon. I go back to work next week (finally) so my time will be limited. I'll try to get more pics. I'm adding some of the Dead Trees LW made for me.

Just Curious!

Haven't seen anything more since your update back in February BH. These airfields you've been working on look mighty nice. How is it coming?

slow. I've been working since February. plus i've been doing little projects here and there. most recently i had to do a restore on my comp. but i have been working on them.

all of them are finished. i just have to do all of the GSL scenery. i had some GOB issues. when i'm finished I will have a new GSL for all of the western front. including the Aerocrate bases.

I will have some new objects to go with it. Lindsay Watts has given me permission to release his dead tree that he made for me. they will be included with my scenery.

I'm certainly not trying to hurry you BH, and anyway, anticipation is good for the soul. I really was just curious. I had remembered reading the comments in your thread back in December and January and at the time hadn't ever tried any WW1 AC. But I'm reading Rickenbacker's autobiography and it started me to looking at what was available. I've set up an exclusive install for WW1 and played around with some of the scenery from Aerocrate, but it's not easy and I'm probably not doing things exactly right. I'm still in the experimenting stage, but flying these early birds is quite a hoot.
So, when you are ready, I'd love to try your scenery out.

Well not quite.

I have to do the GSL scenery for my last two belgian bases.

To tell you the truth my GSL is in a state of flux. Here is whats going on.

I am doing new gsl for ALL of the Aerocrate's airfields. Some i'm only adding a few thing but most don't have any scenery. There are 17 airbases in the Aerocrate's scenery. only 11 have anything on them. I'm Removing all of the AA guns and static planes from the GSL. This is 1917 not 1916. so out with the old kites and in with the new.

My original scenery will be added to this. Maybe a few minor changes. There are 8 airfields in my original scenery.

Belgium... Ahh Belgium. I have made 11 new aerodromes for Belgium. well 2 are realy in France but so what. These are some of my most historically accurate ones. I used actual pictures when making the fields and setting up the GSL.

For the rest of the front, I have 14 airfields that cover of the western front. Most need the GSL finished but i have about half completed.

So in total you will have 33 of my aerodromes. Combine that with the Aerocrate you'll have a grand total of 50 airfields.

If you want more you'll have to wait because I have a Campaign to finish. I hope to release them by the end of the month. I have 14 or so bases to do the GSL on. But all of the design work is completed.

Excellent stuff--I admire your courage and pesristence too.

I will be soon sending Kurt color plates of WWI uniforms of all nations and most services and perhaps he can do his personnel figures for us, so we may add them through the Mb to many places.
