I remmenber watching this great movie by Director David Lean years ago, the star of the movie was the Supermarine Swift jet fighter..it has great photograhy of the Swift going into a dive over the English country side and attemping to break through the sound barrier at the time it was 1951, the prototype Swift portrayed in the movie was highly polished silver.

Cheers

I watched the movie, Sound Barrier this week. What struck me funny was a tail wheel on a tricycle landing gear. Kind of a belt and suspenders sort of affair.
The other thing that was funny was how big Nigel Patricks ears were. They made Clark Gable's look like an amatuer.
