Yep, the race was his to win, but like so many others who have tried to win races on fuel management, he came up just a tiny bit short. What he did do was show a lot of talent and skill in keeping the lead on old tires.
 
Everyone played nice, very little fender banging. I guess the biggest news of the evening was Jeff Gordon and his loose wheels.
