I realise I am probably going to get a whole load of flak (pun intended) over this one but... Does anyone remember this commercial if so then I don't feel alone in my old age :)

Please remember that this is merely British Humour and no disrespect was meant. I researched the history of this advert as far as I could and it seems that the add agency approached the RAF. the surviving aircrews and the deceased families and basically asked permission to screen it.

Be hard to find any disrespect with that unless you take it entirley out of context.

Just plays on the age old rivalary between us and the Germans in the so called 'beautiful game'
 
You can just tell while the world cup is on all were going to get on here is why England are the best both for and against, flying ltterally goes right out the window haha!
 
I was passed an email the other day with regards to the English take on the world cup... And please this is a joke... Ok... Joke...

This was doing the rounds four years ago, funnily enough those flags are back :wiggle:

Dept. of Transport Initiative- May 2006.

Information Release:

There is concern over the current driving standards in England so the Dept. of Transport have devised a scheme to identify poor and dangerous drivers.
This system will allow all road users to recognise the potentially hazardous and dangerous drivers or those with limited driving skills.

Details as follows :

From May 2006 all those drivers who are found to be a potential hazard to other road users will be issued with a white flag bearing a red cross.
This flag clearly indicates their inability to drive properly.
The flags must be attached to a door of the car and be visible to all other drivers and pedestrians.
Those drivers who have shown particularly poor driving skills will have to display two flags, one on each side of the car to indicate an even greater lack of skill and limited driving intelligence.
