Browser Slow?

I use Google Chrome, and have been very happy with it.
Until last week, when it updated itself to v.7.0.5177.44 or something.
I'd open a web site, and if you waited say 30 seconds and clicked a link, it just...hung there.
You'd have to refresh the web page, then quickly click, and it worked OK.

On the way to uninstalling this piece of junk, I stopped by some help pages, and ended up clearing the cache and temporary files.
It's something you actually know, but don't do (like backing up your data).

Man, this browser now flies!
You touch a link and Pop! it's there
Total transformation.

Thought I'd pass this on, as it sort of sneaks up on you over time.
Flush that cache, and dump those temporary files!

I don't know if this is related, but I use Google Earth quite a bit and a few months back when I went to start it up it responded by saying I needed to update to the latest and the old version wouldn't work.

Bugga !

I don't like not having the option to keep the old. If it 'aint broke why fix it .

Anyway when I downloaded the new version of Google Earth I notice there's Google Chrome installed as well .

The latest version of Google Earth is very slow to respond initially and will hang up for long periods before it kicks into play.

Pete.

I'd suggest installing Ccleaner from http://www.piriform.com/ . Not only does it give you the option of cleaning out your browser cache, but it will also clear out other useless temporary files. It has a registry cleaner built in too...just remember to back up your registry first(it'll ask if you want to do this).
I'm also running a modified HOSTS file from http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm which prevents most popup ads and many annoying webpage advertisement links from loading. This will also speed up your Internet browsing.

I don't use Google Chrome and after Google Earth littered my C drive with file fragments that could not be defragmented no matter how much I tried, I uninstalled it. Everything seems to be running a tad faster now.:wiggle:
