Elsner,

Not to worry, it is just the effect of using Rhumbas more accurate mesh. A lot of Pacific Islands are slightly out of line, & need to be redone. That's why there is the debate about Pacific Installs using the old innacurate mesh vs Rhumbas new mesh - a lot of island masses (airfields & ports) need to be redrawn & relocated.

That is why my own New Britain/ Ireland, Carolines sceneries include scenery excludes so you can use them in a new or old mesh install, but even so you will find the airfield & port locations are "off" when trying to fly any mission that was built for the "old" mesh (as almost all of them were).

See a overhead screenshot of Tarawa from my own repaint install (I like to fly with Rhumbas mesh in all my installs).

The solution is for more people to get involved with scenery building ANDrewriting old/ creating new missions...:hororr::p87::a1451:

Otherwise, suck it up, that's just the way it is (for now)

I use his mesh and I don't have that problem.Tarawa looks fine I just checked it.The water masks have given me problems so I don't use them. Could be that is your problem.

I have in tarawa the same Problems, but i can life with this litte problem^^.

@all, i have make a little Flak and Bombsound update. You can find in the CFS 2 Add-On Sound Category.

Copy that...its the water masks. I also use the mesh without the water masks.

The original CFS2 watermasks were made with the CIA data. They are mislocated in almost every instance. That's why I made a set based on the SRTM watermasks. It matches the mesh, and the real world much closer.

My watermasks can be improved with some new tools we now have... I may redo them in the future, but the process is very time consuming. As I recall it took me a couple of months when I was laid off from work, about 700 man-hours. :(

I guess I should clarify. I don't use Rhumbas watermasks, but I do use Gavin Cole's repositioned CFS2 airfields (to match Rhumbas mesh). If I took a ground level view, you would see the airfield matches the mesh, it's just the stock scenery & shorelines that don't. It's not clear from the overhead view.

Scenery matching, its a minefield of possibilities! :dizzy:

PS You can see in the overhead that I haven't bothered to change the gsl scenery location yet... it matches the stock island confines, the original stock runways would match too, as observed by Bearcat & Talon...
