The last couple of days I've been downloading movies and putting them on DVD.

So far I downloaded-Sink the Bismarck,Midway,Flying Leathernecks and The Blue Max. This weekend I plan on The Battle of Britain,Fighter Squadron and God is my Co-Pilot. I wanted to get Tora Tora Tora but the link is down.

Others I plan on are-In Harms Way,Airforce and a few more as I find them.I haven't gone through everything yet.

Al,

Don't forget "Strategic Air Command" with Jimmy Stewert and the "Bridges at Toko Ri."

While not aviation movies, "The Longest Day" and "A Bridge too Far" are also favorites of mine.

The Blue Max is my favorite World War One aviation movie. I encourage everyone to watch this film as it was released decades before CGI.

Some good suggestions Jagd. I'll see if I can get them too.

The various episodes of the TV series 12 O'clock High. I loved the German fighter intercepts of the B-17s film clips.

I have a 3 DVD set of several WWII films from the late '40s through the early '70s that I picked up at WalMart a few years ago to watch on my laptop during long flights for our Uncle Sam. Each film is only about 1.5 hours in length, so I could watch two before I had to switch out batteries on the laptop, or land at the arrival airport.

When I get home this evening I will get the name of the set and post it.

Great suggestions!

Here are a few additional:

"In Which We Serve (1942)"
"The Cruel Sea (1953)"
"We Dive at Dawn (1943)"
"The Man Who Never Was (1956)"
"Twelve O'clock High (1949)"
"Command Decision (1948)"

Hey Talon,

I have Tora Tora Tora on DVD - my family lived on Oahu when it was filmed - Mom still tells the story of walking outside and seeing all of the "Japanese planes" flying over the house, and thinking "Didn't you guys already try this?"
