bullet strike area not in sync with sight

I am trying out Rami's new Defence of Australia and the P-39 bullet hits seem to be hitting above the sight on the windscreen. Can i adjust that?

Try this

Open the aircraft's Panel folder and the panel.cfg using notepad. Make a change as follows:

(Example taken from the stock F6F Hellcat panel .cfg)

[VIEWS]
view_forward_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANEL
VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.5
VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=2.6,0,0

The number highlighted in red; increase 0.1 at a time to raise the bullet stream and decrease it 0.1 at a time to lower the bullet stream in the sight.

If the [VIEWS] paragraph isn't there, copy and paste it in there from another aircraft. Another example, the 1% F6F-5:

[VIEWS]
view_forward_WINDOWS=%window_title_00%
VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=3.3, 0.0, 0.0
VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.3
VIEW_RIGHT_ZOOM=0.2
VIEW_LEFT_ZOOM=0.2
VIEW_REAR_ZOOM=0.2
VIEW_FORWARD_UP_ZOOM=0.24

The bullet stream was way high. I ended up setting it to 1.7

Built-in target lead for high deflection shots

The view_forward_ Dir =was 7.3. Changed it to 3.3

Hi highpockets,

if you set it just above the dead centre of the gunsight, you'll get a sort of automatic target lead during dogfight high deflection shots.

Most of the times, dogfighting happens on a horizontal plane, with you targeting your opponent in a sharp banked attitude, while you follow its turns designed to throw your aim off.

It's the time when one needs to lead its target considerably, in order to have the bullets reach the point where the target will be when they get there.

Even when dogfighting a nimble opponent on a vertical plane, in a few words during loops, a considerable amount of target lead becomes necessary to hit it.

I usually get this sort of built-in target lead with a "view_forward_ Dir" =2.3 to 2.6

Cheers!

Being an old bird hunter, I understand the lead.:encouragement:
My problem with the P-39 on a strafing run was that it was shooting way out in front of where I was aiming
