BV222 vs. Hughes Hk-1

Hello all,

Just a thought: Which of these aircraft would have been the world's largest for their respective times , the Blohm und Voss 222 or the Hughes HK-1 Hercules? Also , were any of them tested for altitude and which would have been the most powerful and effective?

AFAIK the BV-222 was the largest aircraft in WW2 service, both longer and wider than a B-29 but much rarer since not many were built. The HK-1, or H-4 Hercules was the largest aircraft ever built at the time, but only one was built and it only flew once, and briefly.

As far as testing at altitude goes, in the BV-222 you'd die of boredom: it took nearly an hour to climb to 6,000m. :dizzy:

Today's largest - and generally accepted as the biggest ever built - is the An-225 and like the BV and Hercules they are rare - only one was finished, the second is used as its spares source iirc. I saw the beast on finals in 2000 and it is staggeringly big!

Another question, The HK-1 available for CFS3 here, Can it be used in ETO and also which coordinates can you use for it because of its size?
