• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Bye Bye Vista!

Falcon409, it's sounding like your harddrive has some bad sectors. Sometimes these can be repaired, sometimes not, but I would think a full reformatting should fix it if it is fixable.

As for the operating system, I liken Windows Vista to Windows ME, lots of new stuff, but it doesn't always work. I think Windows 7 will be more like Windows XP in terms of stability and usefulness. The confusing side to Windows 7 will be in selecting the version that best suites your needs. Windows 7 will come in six flavors, but only two (Home Premium and Professional) are slated to be widely available on the retail level.

I had been using and enjoying Vista fir two years until the release of the beta version of Windows 7 build 7000. been using it for the last 3 or 4 months and recently upgraded to the Windows 7 RC.

I am a ver y happy chappy even though there are a couple of thing I don't like. But I can live with that.

Cheers
Pat
