C-117 as an AI

I sometimes use regular aircraft as AI. I gave the C-117 a shot to use in the Bahamas. I created the appropriate files and compiled the traffic file. I went to the departure field to have a look and watch that glorious bird do its' thing. When departure time came, the electrical came on and she pushed back. I had the F/P written for TnG so she taxied out and flew the pattern and executed the TnG. All that without the engines running! I have used the default Goose in this manner with no problems. Does anyone know what needs to be done to have the engines start as an AI bird?

I think this behaviour is due to a discepancy between the AI engine and the "out of the oridinary" prop animations used in the model (FSX limitation). Nothing you can do about it.

Thanks for the response. maybe it's time to move on....

Or wait for Manfred to release a dedicated AI model.

Or use a DC-3 AI model. Or...

I have tried a few things so perhaps I will give the DC-3 model a go.

EDIT: Changing the model kills the paint job. Perhaps Manfred will make a dodel file for an AI. Thanks for your prompts.

You're welcome.

As for an AI DC-3, you can try Tom Gibson's model from the Calclassic AI traffic packages.
