C-119 Flying Boxcar payware model for FSX? anywhere

I grew up in the 50s near Mitchel Field, Hempstead, Long Island. My house was located under the approaches to Mitchel Field, Grumman, and Republic Aviation. We used to have the C-119s and T-33s fly over all the time, not to mention the Trackers, Tracers Stoofs, F-84Fs, occassional Globemaster. A magical time to be a kid!

Been there myself.. Not meaning to sound callous, but i hope you didnt pay for that file.. Worse, I hope you didnt spend a lot of time creating that file..
Max 3.0 or 3.1 had a neat little utility in it that allowed you to repair corrupted max files. They were pretty common back then, but, i havent seen that utility in a very long time..
Maybe its out there someplace though.. Will cross fingers and keep hopes up..

Actully, it wasn't so bad. Had only made the fuselage pod made, then realized my refs were all whack. So I shelved it anyways, and made the PT-19, and now, XB-35.

I guess these old girls meant a lot of things to a lot of us.. I guess thats why i like history so much. It can be fun like at Renaissance Faire's, or amazing like in how this one plane could touch so many lives, in ways no designer could ever conceive.. :)

Well said, Pam. That's why I read a lot and, for example, an SBD or SB2C in FSX comes to life for me after reading "Dauntless Helldivers", the PBY with "Black Cat Raiders", the C-123k with "Flying through midnight" and so on. Learning about the development and operation of the aircraft, as well as historical scenarios in which they flew, makes this a very rich and fulfilling hobby.

I think I have to expand my envelope towards the C-119 now... :)

Great news, Colin!

Cheers,
Mark

As an FYI, production has now commenced on this bird. I am hopeful that we will have it out by next summer. It will, needless to say, be of the same general quality as all of our releases.

End.
