C-46 Commando Update - Any Good ?

I'm reluctant to upgrade her until a number of repaints show. I have some favorites I use with the original and she flies just fine in MSFS24.

I noticed that the Boeing 307 is also showing as having been upgraded by Inibuilds. Another big vintage prop I like flying, but I can't find any info on what was actually changed.

Thanks for that list.

I went ahead and upgraded the Tri-Motor and 307. Huge visual improvement on both. The odd strobing effect of the exterior textures on the Tri-Motor looks like they are gone. It also looks like the old AH packaged repaints for the 307 are also working and look great.

Because of the big visual improvements on the Tri-Motor and 307, I crossed my fingers and upgraded the C-46. Happy to report that it looks like the repaints for her that I got from FlightsimTO are working and look great. Haven't checked them all yet.

Thanks for all the info, remarks and observations, chaps. I've bought the C-46, and seem to be suffering the same issue with opening doors on the inside and being deposited on the outside - and vice versa. No great problem, and I'm sure Inibuilds / Working Title will fix it in due course. Haven't had a chance to fly it yet, but the update changelog looks promising.

That's a default MSFS2024 feature, it happens with all aircraft in the sim and in many cases the door closes again when you're outside.

Not really. It will happen with the default DHC6 Twin Otter, but only in one direction ( getting out but not getting in ). It doesn't happen with either the Black Box Islander or the Black Square Baron ( the only others I checked ) and it doesn't happen via the cargo door on any other model that I know of.

Having done a few short flights, I rather like the Commando. It flies beautifully with my new Virpil stick - very responsive. The external model is good except for a minor glitch on the left undercarriage leg, and the VC is nicely done. The mixture levers don't seem to respond to controller inputs, but overall it's good value at £9.39.

Where do you buy it, hopefully not the marketplace, as I don't see it on the inibuild's web store!

The B-707 too, where do you buy that one?

Thanks Paul!
You are very welcome. I understand people's hesitancy when it comes to Marketplace purchases, but I do recommend you make an exception for the Boeing 707. For the price, it is astonishing, with features normally found on much more expensive releases - an automated flight engineer, for example. Jorg Neumann certainly made good on his promise to improve upon the original release.

As regards the 707, some really good repaints are coming through this forum, on the way to .to.
