• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

C210 Sounds

G'day all

I've always found the Carenado C210 sounds a bit "anaemic", so I was wondering whether anyone knew of a sound set to suit the IO-520 or similar. Or possibly better yet, is it possible to adapt the Carenado 206 sounds to the 210 (I tried mucking around with the sound cfg but it only ended in tears :crybaby: )

Seems like an alias to the FS9 Mooney would be an appropriate match for a C-210 to me. It displays plenty enough powerful prop sound but not extremely whiny and has a good throaty exhaust sound. And by aliasing it to your C-210 you save some hard drive space.

Just wondering, How do you alias a panel or sound to a default aircraft? I've not done much config editing and I've only recently worked out how to add a texture folder to an aircraft. And thats thanks to a G.J.Smith readme file. :kilroy:
 
Open either the default 777 or 747 sound folders. They're both aliased to the default 737 sound file, so you can see exactly how it's done.

Will the alias work with the VC? Lets say TVA AF1 747 panel alias to the default 747. And will this work with both FS9 & FSX?

Sorry Aztec I didn't mean to stay from your original post but I think that the info that I've asked for will help those that don't know how it's done. And I think PhantomX1 has a good point.

I don't think you can alias VC's because they're part of the model. However, I do know the gauge placement is in the panel.cfg

In FSX, you can copy the interior model from another plane and set the model.cfg to use it, but the main model also has to be compatible with that feature. No-can-do in FS9. Sorry Barry...
