CalClassic Stratoliner

falcon409

SOH-CM-2025
Does anyone have this in FSX and if so, how did you correct the texture holes where the Logo's sit around the nose and aft fuselage? The installer says it's for FSX but apparently it was done prior to the release of SP2.

Thanks Daube, that's a different airplane. This is the Stratoliner. . .yours is the Stratocruiser. Here's a shot of the problem areas.

My guess on this, is that the logo textures were assigned alphas that would ask as transparency. For some reason, they are over-riding the assigned materiel for the main skin. I don't have that, so hard to say...just a guess.

You're on the right track I believe and the one I was following in an attempt to correct the problem. Both the texture and the alpha have solid black backgrounds so my assumption was that by manipulating one or the other I could get the correct effect. That didn't happen. What I'm afraid may be going on here is that those areas are actually controlled by the mdl file and I've been that route before. . .it's strictly a hit-n'-miss proposition. You could have 50 LOD's and no way of knowing which one effects which part of the airplane, so you just have to start at the top (or bottom) and work your way through each material setting.

I have the feeling it's stuck in the .mdl also.

I haven't been able to properly save an flying mdl edited in ModelconverterX...are you using something else?

Joseph

I have that as well... I'll have to look into it more. Been trying to add an environment map/reflections to the Flying Stations Sea Fury.

The one you get thru the CalClassic site is Jens' "b307_v10.zip". Jens' FSX only version at Avsim is b307_v11.zip.
It has an SP2/Accel dialog when installing it.
The textures are *.dds and have a different layout(other than flipped), so, any you've created for V1.0 won't work...Don

Then CalClassic needs to correct their installer because it states that it is installing the FSX version. Thanks for the HU!

UPDATE: Downloaded/Tested/Certified!! Thanks again "fxsttcb":salute:
