Can you 'turn up' the frequency of lightning?

The light show we get in FSX has nothing on a Midwest thunderstorm.

Can it be done? Some kind of cfg entry somewhere?

Not to my knowledge... You can inject a lot of very specific weather functions via the Simconnect interface, but not the frequency of lighting. Might want to have a look at

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526983.aspx#SimConnect_WeatherCreateStation and follow down the list of parameters.
