I am the only one who cannot access flightsim.com and avsim.com? I tried to restart from puppy linux and still nada, though im able to login through proxy server. Sorry for my bad english.

Avsim

Now that you mention it, I haven't been able to access Avsim since I had to buy my new lap top a few months ago.

I've tried different settings, but after signing in, I get a message saying that I have to allow pop ups. No problem, I've gone go Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>Sites>Allow Avsim (always). Even with Avsim listed, it's still a no go.

I'm using W7 64bit with all the updates.

Anyone else have this problem?

Hey Jagd --

You may have to turn off the Acitve X filtering in your browser window (at the top of the page, it looks like a blue circle with a slash through it). I had a similar problem and turning off that little switch took care of it. My PC --Win 7/64 with IE-9.

If you are using another browser other than IE8 or 9... you'll have to check the settings, I am only familiar with IE.

Thanks guys.

Good idea to try another browser. I tried Google Chrome and it works fine with Avsim. I was going to uninstall it, but I guess I'll keep it for Avsim.

I looked for the Active X control at the top of the page, but I don't see it on the IE 9 that is on my computer.

I've tried most browsers and chrome is the best imo. You can get (like firefox) a free app to eliminate banner ads including the flash ones. Those things are totally annoying.

I have had the same problem with Britsim for over a year now.
Tried every browser available, all possible settings, different search engines and links.... (just a spinning circle saying welcome to Britsim)
No luck, until I get to my work PC.
I have no problems with any other website, just this one.

Britsim

Stuart - have you tried to access Britsim.com since it changed a couple of days ago to a new server here in the U.K. ?
Cheers

Have you tried Britsim in the past couple of days Stuart? They have switched to a new server, and things are much improved.

Like Jagdflieger and Rich I use Chrome for Avsim; I can access Avsim in IE, but it can be buggy. Chrome seems to handle downloading more easily; I also use it for foreign sites (like Flightsim Periskop) as it has the auto translate function built into the browser.

Turning off active X filtering is a requirement in IE9. It's over in the safety menu. I couldn't get on most FS sites, especially download sites till I turned it off.

Thanks for the HU guys!

The new Britsim server certainly does the trick.

At last I can log in from home without having to be afraid that the boss is looking over my shoulder...:icon_lol:

Cheers, Stuart
