• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Cannot Download from Site

I cannot download files from this site anymore. When I click to DOWNLOAD the window pops up prompting me to Open or Save and when I click on Save the window closes and no download options pops up. Does anyone know if there is currently a problem with this site or possibly with the security setting on my computer?
I do not have this issue with a CFS3 download I tried from another site as a test.
 
When the 'Download' window comes up bring up the 'Save As' text then choose where to download it. Otherwise check in your C:\users folder and you will more than likely find that is where it has downloaded to.
 
Thanks for the replies but it seems I have some other issue going on here. I've done hundreds of downloads from this site and all have worked fine until recently. When I click to save the file the window closes and I get no option to Save as or a download time window. Occassionally I get another window that opens up that is titled: Data Execution Prevention - Microsoft Windows. In this window it says: To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program.

It only happens with SOH, not Regs Hanger or Italian Wings. I'm thinking that the last Windows update to my XP recognizes the SOH download as some kind of security threat.
 
If it has happened only since the last XP update it appears that it could be Microsoft's way of saying that it is time you updated your O/S to a newer version of Windows.
