After I change
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\CFS3 ETO Expansion\global_layer"
to
"D:\CFS3 ETO Expansion\global_layer" and Save,
a 'Save As' window says the file already exists, do I want to replace it?
I click Save again and another window says 'This File is Set to Read Only - Try Again with a Different File Name.
NONE of this is in the Read me instructions and I cannot get the changes made.
The only way I can get out of this is to cancel everything and nothing gets changed.
I'm not about to attempt to edit the ETOGLSwapper.bat file and all the changes until
I succeed in changing this one. :isadizzy:
 
Right click on file and select properties. Unselect read only property of file. You will then be able to edit the file and save. I set up the selector files as read only so that they would not be changed without the intention of the user to change them.

Game resolution is set at 1280x720. Image Quality all set to 5 everything enabled and the game and controls couldn't be better since I installed 600 watts of power. :applause:

Hi Richcreator, sounds like you've got a good rig there. In terms of game settings, what is the native resolution and refresh rate for your monitor?

CFS3 seems to run better on the native resolution. Even if the native resolution is higher than 1280x 720, CFS3 may well actually run at a higher frame rate.

If the game won't run smoothly on all 5s at the native resolution, the best image quality is achieved by dropping one or two of the slider settings, rather than dropping screen resolution. I'd start with clouds if necessary - they still look good at lower slider settings.

Well worth tinkering as its always satisfying to discover you can squeeze a bit more from your rig.

Never would I have attempted to set the game resolution to my native resolution of 1920 x 1080
had you not suggested it. Runs flawlessly and everything still at 5.
