Can't access the Simmarket site

SOH-CM-2023
Hi everyone,

I have a very strange situation going on at the moment. I am trying to access Simmarket's website in order to gain access to my account. Now for some odd reason, it redirects me to the CIA website (no joke). I don't know if its on my end or something or if I did something wrong, I don't know. All I want to know is how can I gain access back to simmarket's site and not the CIA's site:kilroy: Just in case, I have receipts for all my purchases from simmarket and various other outlets I deal with. Any help is appreciated.

Still nothing, I even tried deleting the certificates to see if anything changes...nada. I logged on to my simmarket account on my sister's phone with no problems, its just that I can't get on the site on my PC. Does anyone have any ideas?

Post the link you are using to access the site, if the redirect is based on the link it'll redirect everyone using it. If it is based on your end, download MalwareBytes Free Version and run it, something is fishy. May want to do this anyway if you aren't using it already, regardless of which anti-viri program you use, unless you are on a Mac and then there is no hope for you.

Try pinging a the address in a command window and see what address you get. You must be getting bad DNS information from your provider.

Ok I figured it out. Seems like I have communications with their server, it's just something thats going amiss. Will investigate this further and I will send out some emails.

Ok, 3 days after I sent emails I get nothing in return. If anyone has any other possible solutions, I would highly appreciate it.

To ping, if you hold down the windows key (next to left alt, normally) and press r, that will open the "Run" dialogue box. Type "cmd" and press enter to open a Command Window ("DOS Box"), then inside that, type "ping www.simmarket.com". Another useful one is "tracert www.simmarket.com", which will actually show you each step taken to get from you, to your destination.

However, as I just responded to a similar thread over at simFlight (which referred me to here), the following site may be of use: http://use.opendns.com/

OpenDNS hosts their own DNS servers, which are open to access by anyone, I believe. That site explains how to change your DNS settings on a variety of OSs to use their servers. Give that a go and see if it works - if it does, shout at your ISP to fix their flippin' DNS tables!!!

I used to have this problem a lot with some of the "free" UK ISPs back in the day, but now you have to pay for them all again, they seem to have got a lot better.
