I (and a few others) wish they would...

....do the following things:

- Make a version without the EVS blisters
- Rework the model to make shiny natural metal textures possible
- Give us an additional non-EVS version with AGM-28 Houndogs under the wings

THEN we'd have something even better...

That would be pretty tricky, since the two B-52's involved in that project were essentially "one off" airframes due to modifications and age.

Both of the B-52's had large notches cut in the right flap to fit the X-15 rudder, which meant that the flaps couldn't be extended for landing or takeoff. In a normal B-52, this would be an emergency, but Balls 8 (the one that retired in 2004) used it as a normal procedure for every flight during and after the X-15 program. The NASA B-52's were also missing several internal fuel tanks and the tip tanks were also removed as well.

In addition to the modifications, Balls 8 was comprised of a hodgepodge parts from pretty much every B-52 model, since it started life as an RB-52B (it was actually the 8th B-52 ever built), but as parts wore out, NASA crews often raided B-52's in museums for replacements to keep the aircraft flying.

There was a story in Air&Space a few years ago about Balls 8, where the crew was mentioning that the aircraft was the oldest B-52 still flying, but had fewer flight hours than any of the H models the USAF currently uses.
