Ok...I just went and bought the entire C-130 package...I love the C-130 that much. I had it in FS9 and couldn't do with out.

I have an issue.....I'm not getting the CTD's that I've read about but I have a texture issue. All of my planes have light colored leading edges on on the wings and tail planes.....on all variants.

Is anyone else aware of this issue? Was there a fix?

here's is what I'm seeing....

Can't see what the problem is. If the light bits you mention are those whitish-grey strips along the front of the wings, then that's part of the paint (or lack of?).

Exactly!

As the leading edges of the wings, tail and engine intakes of the C-130 have thermal anti icing (by engine bleed air) it's quite common (and sometimes neccessary) to keep these areas unpainted.

hmmmm,,.,......having been part of VR-64 who flys C-130's.......ythis is not a "typical" of C-130's. I'm seeing this even on the 70's camo bird and I know thats not right.

Oh well.....I know the FS9 version was not like this thats why I asked........suck is life.....I still love this plane!

Interesting, just checked all my Herk books and apart from the unpainted C-130s I haven't found a single one with unpainted leading edges!!!
Have you checked the texture files? Maybe it's a rather easy to correct painting error or it's a mapping problem....

Use DXTBmp or Imagetool and take a look at the wing textures and see how they are painted.
That should answer if it is a texture issue or it was "painted" that way.

they are painted that way as I did that check after I made my post. Its sad because it seems even repainters are following this falsehood. Oh well.....she's still a fun plane to fly in FSX.

Mine don't seem to have this problem!
