Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Carenado C404 Titan

I just saw this available for 2020 on the Marketplace and I'm considering it. But I have questions...

Chief among them is can I get a visible copilot inside the cabin? The rest of my question can probably be answered with "It's Carenado - you know what to expect."

In the FS2024 version, you get a copilot and a full suite of passengers. So I'd think you'd at least get the copilot? Is Carenado inconsistent on copilot inclusion on 2020?

Alas, my FS2020 install is cut back to be a 1930s/40s-specific configuration, and not sure if I could even download it for the old sim as I got mine as part of the 2024 Premium Deluxe version, so can't check it there.

Edit: Oh, apparently I did get an entitlement for the 2020 download despite the 404 just being included stock with my edition of 2024. So just for you, Tom, I downloaded it and time-traveled a 404 to 1935. Alas, despite loading the plane fully with passengers and copilot, nothing visible in the cockpit. There's a "show copilot" setting on the clipboard, but it only affects the external view.

Bummer. I will say that if copilot/passenger inclusion is important to you, that's another check in the "reasons to upgrade to the current version of MSFS" column. Most native 2024 planes are really good about pilot/copilot avatars.

(Still occasional issues, such as iniBuilds screwing up the T-33, but I see a lot more copilots in 2024. Plus in 2024 it feels less like you're flying with a mannequin. :) )

Sorry, wish I bore better news for you.

Why do you need a copilot? Is it that much of an immersion breaker? Cape Air is one of the biggest operators of 404/402's and they are single pilot ops in airline service. Same with their new Tecnam P2012's

For me, it's more the little things that matter. Having a visible copilot while looking around the cockpit makes a huge difference for me. There are too many planes in my 2020 hangar that do provide that for me to believe that it's not possible in other planes. I've even managed to modify a couple of the stock planes in my hangar to enable the interior copilot.

I thought we had a change of admin staff for a moment! ooops... I changed my pic too, didn't I?
