Skymaster GNS 530

Hi,

Does anyone know if the GNS 530 in the Skymaster has a terrain map?

Thanks,

Joe

It does have a terrain mode, the switch for which is labeled properly on the pop-up GPS head. If you look just from the VC, the Terr switch is labeled VNAV (but selects Terr mode). Just flying around virtual Florida couldn't see if the terrain properly shows elevation, will check some hilly areas tomorrow.

I can't say for sure but it probably just uses the default GPS's terrain page, which is nothing like the real GNS 530's. I use the Reality XP version (which is essentially the real unit) so I don't know much about Carenado's implementation. I would highly recommend it!

Love it!

Wow! This baby is well worth the money. What a beautiful model inside and out (best VC from Carenado so far), and it flies nicely. I'll be putting some serious hours on those engines. View attachment 47341

Yeh me too, bring on the repaints. Not that Carenado does not have some nice ones but you can't have too many for a plane thats going to get as much use as this one.

Thanks, watching Cirrus N210MS' video all you see are two pages in the Nav Page Group showing on the GNS 530 in the VC. The page showing in the video isn't a Terrain map, it's the default Nav first page. According to the research I've done there should be five pages in the Nav Page Group. I'm interested if the Terrain Map shows up in the VC. I'm not a big fan of flying around with pop up windows open. Can you see the Terrain Map in the VC without a pop up window open?
