Carenado D18 released

Found These Interior Shots

Questmaster Museum restorers of D18s had these on their website. Does this help Mark?

Hi,

the cockpit images above are of a real old one, we won't be able to replicate that, unfortunately. They didn't have panels covering the roof in them. I found a lot of good images from around the sixties that are do-able. I was looking for Air America aircraft, and found that most D18s used by them were ex service C-45s. There were some that had grey interior with a grey instrument panel, and some had a black instrument panel. Doing both is very easy, once the PSD is set up..

Cheers,
Mark

See

Shows ya how much I KNOW! LOL!!! I am trying to make military pilots instead of the civilian ones. In my Carenado C208B they have a pilot for the Brazilian Air Force and also the UAE pilot in military jackets I am going to try and work with. I have some stuff in the works and will share that with ya all here.

Pilots

With the model the way its been designed, even though there are six files that relate to pilots and if they would have used one of the other ones we could have substituted the pilots from the Cessna Grand Caravan Carenado did or even their T34 Mentor pilots but they created a new file with both pilots in it called PILOTS and if you open it up, to me it looks like a jigsaw puzzle. I send a support request to Carenado but their reply was that they do not assist any modifications to their aircraft to check the forums but there is nothing in the forums because this is a new aircraft and I don't remember ever seeing this PILOTS file and I have quite a number of their aircraft. Disappointing to me but not the end of the world. Unless you zoom in very closely on the cockpit from outside you can't tell what the pilots are wearing.

Military Pilots

Just got a reply back from Carenado Support that they will put my suggestion for military pilots in the D18S as a future modification and will send notification (to all those who own it) when it is implemented by them. See, it pays to complain sometimes even though it's a little thing.

ROFL

I just noticed that someone mounted the Yokes upside down, either on the museum version above or the real flying thing in the video. I'd suppose that the real one is the right way.

Cheers,
Mark

I've seen real world Beech 18s with the oval on the top or bottom. I don't remember if it had to do with model or preference. Too long ago.

Check on the Beech Restoration Site I posted above and ask the question. I would almost guarantee that they will have the answer to this which is very interesting.

OK, the day textures are done, also for the cabin in Air America colors. I pretend it's a VIP transport :)

Thread Dead

I had been waiting for the updated interior and kinda forgot this thread. THEN my computer "crashed and burned". After hours of efforts and a factory default reinstall of just Windows 7 and drivers, I was able to diagnose that the HDD has dead sectors. I found a new Hard Disk but have to wait for payday in 3 weeks to get it. In the meantime, I looked high and low for file backups. Sadly all my AAF training fields are gone except for Hawthorne which was in the Dropbox.

I found by the grace of the Good Lord that I DID backup this C45 US Army texture so I am uploading it to the Warbird library as i was supposed to do. If you want a copy check it out later when its approved.

Can someone do a repaint for A Carendo D18 in Piedmont

I have and I have talked with Milton Shupe regarding the orig D18S he has done and nothing better (well maybe..lol) but the problem I have is the original won't taxi correctly. I am using it as an AI. All of the Piedmont D18S are in the hanger for now because of that. There is a repaint that was done by:GLENN BAKER for the aircraft done by Beech D 18 by Milton Shupe, Scott Thomas and André Folkers

Even the Carendo goes around in a circle at start and then catches on. It could be my afcad....ADE for KINT that I have redone.
The aircraft cfg section is like this: for the repaint. The repaint is here: https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/16388/fs2004-piedmont-airlines-beech-18/

The paint probably can't be used unless someone who is knowledgeable to redo the bmps or just do one from scratch.
This is it:

Would consider paying someone to do it for the Carendo.... I really don't think I have the skills to do this..lol
If someone knows how or where to find a newer paint..let me know. I wrote Glenn Baker but no response. Don't know if he is even still with us..unless someone knows him.
Thanks,
warmest Regards,
Bob M.

Hope whoever might paint one for you gets it more accurate to Piedmont's scheme than shown here, there's a nice Piedmont DC-3 paint on the web for the MAAM DC-3, perhaps can be adopted from that ?, however Piedmont never flew this a/c, they flew- DC-3, F-27, M404, FH-227B, YS-11, B721, B732, in this scheme.
