Carenado is making a...........

The C340 thread just appeared on Avsim, so it may actually be releasing soon! I won't be able to get it till like tuesday next week at earliest... sigh:blind:

I'm sure it'll take Carenado weeks to fix the bugs in their new 3D gauges though, so I guess I won't be missing much.

Will be interesting to see how this model turns out. The year after I got my multi, I was checked out in a B55 and a D55 owned by a small company here. It was like a wild horse compared to the PA-44's I had flown before. A couple of years later, the owner sold the 2 older Barons and bought a 58P that was exceptionally nice & well kept.

I'm not very keen on Carenado models for one reason, the FDE's. Some seem fairly close to some of the GA's I have flown in the past but others are way off. Something in the feel of the unstick speed/ rotation moments in some of these FDE's don't feel right at all and there are other issues with some. The rest of the eye candy is pretty good and basic engine/systems modeling are okay(not exactly accurate). It would be nice for the authors to have hands on or at least beta testers who have current time & checkouts on some of the models to oil the squeaks on the models and FDE's so to speak. But these days, GA's of nearly any type are ridiculous in hourly operation/rental costs!

I'll skip the Baron plus the C340 and take the 210 instead. Bring on a Skymaster as well:ernae:
I second the 210 as well!!! Always loved my flights in those, just not the damn bill when I came back!

The Skymaster, never flown one but my goodness, they have a unique sound! I wonder if they will model the oil leaks and overheat tendency of the rear engine? LOL...... An O-2 would rule!

All the planes they have in development now are quite interesting -
but I was really hoping they'd make an amphibean version of the C208 at some point.

I wish they'd make one of these...

I'm chomping at the bit for a 210 they announced months ago, so what do they decide to put over that...everything else I don't want! Dang!

If anyone knew how to get in touch with Mikko Malinimi, he made a 207 for FS 2000. I'm sure an updated version would be fairly simple if he still has the source files.

I worked with Mikko on a few little things back in the day including the never released Skymaster. If I could get back in touch with him, I could get permission to rework and release the Skymaster source files I have.
