Carenado Mentor

There's a paintkit on AvSim.
ct34pkit.zip

Denny,

For FSX I would not use this Paint Kit, but make one's own using the basic metal texture. Be aware that in FSX, the default texture is DXT5 not DXT3 as the Paint Kit, and not only the base texture needs work, but work must be done to the bump maps and Alpha's to make the repaint appear correctly and no have reminders of the old paint.

I have already finished the Marine Mentor, but need some work packaging it, as I need to included the correct bump map textures also.

DC, that and the other Air Force paint I did for the FS9 mentor are on the list also. It takes a little time because I am starting from scratch with new base textures and new bump maps and Alpha channels.

Looking forward to your re-worked paints Cazz...:ernae:

re-paints

Not to offend anyone, but IMHO, Justin Lamb's and Eric Joiner's re-paints for the Mentor port over to FSX just fine and are absolutely SUPERB!!!:applause: However, I am also looking VERY FORWARD to anyone elses reworked paints as well. :ernae:

Vc gps

Edit the panel.cfg file with the following line at the bottom of the [Vcockpit01] section to add access for the GPS from the VC;

gauge24=MentorIcon!GPS Icon, 134,259,17,17

This will place a GPS icon "hot spot" in the lower right corner of the red rectangle placard above the Gear/Flap indicator (mid-left section of the forward panel).

I love both the Alphasim and Carenado Mentor - both very well done :applause:

Time to wake this long, forgotten, and very dated subject of the Carenado Beechcraft T-34 Mentor. My reason for this is I was searching the net for resource materials and an image of one caught my attention.
Registration N134JC owned and flown by Julie Clark. To me one of the best looking there are. I thought it to be an excellent subject for repainting in HD. Then the searching commenced to find out if anyone had done it.
To my surprise, it was not. In fact there were very few paints for the Carenado T-34 model. Which leads me to think that the model is nothing to get excited about.

I would enjoy a T-34 to the LOD of the stuff they've been releasing recently.

I'm aware of the other payware model also.

By 'other', are you referring to the Alpha/Virtavia C model? I personally would really like to see some hi-def paints for the older carenado Mentor!

That is what I thought you were referring to :salute:

...The Carenado model could clearly use an update....but HD textures (both inside and out) and possibly a few other tweaks here and there could make it superb!

Are Cazzie's paints for the T34 available anywhere for download? I've looked here, perhaps not in the correct place.
