CAS J-3 N85DF mod issues

simtech

SOH-CM-2025
Bomber_12th, I really love what you've done to the CAS J-3. Looks gorgeous. HOWEVER: I have been afflicted with a bad case of dum A-- and I tried activating through Addon Linker to the community folder. But in the menu, the only thing showing up is the basic wheeled version of N85DF. I can't see the Tundra nor the much desired float version. I also tried to manually add to the original Aircraft Sim Object folder, but no joy. Could someone point me in the right direction, please so that I might enjoy this beautiful airplane> TIA.. blue skies, Terry

Hi Terry, the way in which the repaint is packaged is all-in-one, with just the one main folder (JT_J3_Cub_N85DF) to be installed in the community folder - that one main folder contains the three individual aircraft folders, but it is to remain all packaged as one, in the same manner as the CAS J3 product.

Thank you, John for the clarification. However, I did just put the one folder containing all three versions in the CF, but only the wheeled version showed up in MSFS. I tried selecting different AC or Liveries.. only the wheeled version showed. I'll try again . Thank you for responding.

Update: I corrected the corrupted aircraft.cfg and the original plus original liveries now show correctly. The N85DF wheeled version shows, but neither the tundra or float model shows. In the CF is the original CAS J-3 folder and the JT_J3_N85DF folder standing independently containing the three separate folders along with the two *.json files. At least I can use one of three.

Are you sure you have the latest version of CAS Cub? Both the float and tundra tyre versions have been added recently. So if you're still using the release version, you won't see them in the sim.

Tim, Thank you for the tip. I wasn't aware of that. I'll check. Thank you.

According to Contrail, the version I have is 1.20. There's no option to update. :(

I double checked the installed package and the *.json reads 1.20.

Opening the folder, I find three folders containing the stnd, tundra, and float. But they don't show up in game. Only the std. shows up. What am I missing?

Yes, 1.2.0 is the most recent version of the product. When you're in the aircraft selection menu, you should see the three CAS J3 Cub variants. Then you'll have to select liveries and you should be able to see N85DF available within the liveries available for each of the three versions.

True, but unfortunately, I only see just the std version with wheel pants. I do see N85DF in the livery section of the std model.

UPDATE: This is crazy  I rebooted the computer and restarted MSFS through Addon Linker and the three models are NOW present.

Thank you John and Tim for trying to pull this ole geezer out of the mud. Can't wait to fly these around Misty Moorings. Have a beautiful weekend.
