CATF after the AVG

Talon

Members +
I just uploaded the CATF ( Chinese Air Task Force ).Not sure when it will be up for down load. There are 28 missions and they start after July 4,1942 when the AVG was disbanded and became the CATF.You will be flying a P-40B,C and E during the missions.

I know some of you like to go into the mission builder to check missions out but some of these missions have been hand edited so there are different planes in the player flight. If you go into MB and change anything it will mess up the mission.

Hope you enjoy.

I don't know if I will be doing missions or campaigns after this as my heart isn't into it anymore.

Catf

Thanks Al!

Take a break and just enjoy the sim. Lots of other guys making stuff for it and I just know that you need to try it all out.

Talon,

Yep (ditto what Jagd wrote), take a break and enjoy the sim, and Thanks for the CATF and all of the missions you've done.

Cheers,
O

Thanks for getting these missions into the upload Talon! :applause: I have always admired your work. It's nice not to exactly know what is going to happen in your missions....I never like to look. Kind of like seeing the end of a movie first. Thanks for all that you have done over the past years. :ernae: Now go and fly someone else's work....but don't be too critical :costumes: .

Thanks Again, Dv

I promise to read the readme's Talon

Things change...sometimes for the better often for the worse.
Your possible retirement from mission creation would definitely be the later.

For what its worth, its campaign makers like you that make CFS2 a special place to fly in. I just want you to know we don't take your work for granted. Thank you sincerely. :ernae:

Too right, mate. It's certainly kept CFS2 at the top of my list - I'm even dabbling in repaint attempts and stuff, when I get the time - all inspired by guys like you.

Hellcat
I keep forgeting you need pretty pictures in the readme.:costumes:

Dvslats-I'm never critical of other peoples work.

As for me there's really nothing in the CBI or the Pacific I want to work on.I don't do European missions.

Ever thought about an updated Okinawa air war...now that was one show that's gotten little attention in CFS2 - i only know of one short campaign. Over 5000 USN casualties and 50 plus ships lost, with thousands of wounded sailors and airmen and a great number of ships horrifically damaged by IJN airstrikes and kamakazies. The scope was so huge that such a project would probably be akin to the long-awaited PHP2 venture.

Talon evendow your dislike of me is intense and consistent I do not share the same feelings toward you. Good job and thank you!:wavey:

Bear241 on the subject of a Okinawa campaign those are the loses that the Goverment dare tell us. They where probably higher. But then who would have supported a Invation of Japan in late 1945?:icon_lol:

I don't really have any interest in it.Plus it takes months of research before I even start missions and campaigns.I just don't feel like putting in the time for a new project.

Re newbie here. Dropped off CFS2 for awhile, then wondered if that joystick still worked ;) What happened? Why did I . . . oh yea . . . CFS3 came out and that turkey led me astray.

I'm stunned at the amount of work is (now) available - and also that there are next to no dead links in the community. Holy cow.

Talon you brought me back. The Wife is amused as I wander the web gathering up the pieces for AVG. Then learn how to download from the various and sundry sites. And then wander some more to gather up the pieces for the pieces to AVG! (eawwii -> Hainan island? Moluccas?) I'm not confident with the aircraft*, but I'm sure with a little more downloading I'll clean-up any glitches I might have.

Anyway I look forward to the detailed exploration of history I'm about to undertake, and just wanted to say thanks!

* Not sure if I need a specific model, or if any P-40B/C works, and not exactly sure I got the right aircraft from the hago003.hp.infoseek.co.jp site. Why don't they speak English like the rest of the world??? :costumes:

Donjasper

You will need the P-40B/C conversions by Bearcat241 for both the AVG & CATF.The eawwii scenery is the full pack it covers Burma,China,India,Ind-China and so forth.

Talon

Thanks. I pulled together the eawwii stuff, and spot-checked with some 'quick combat' at a few airfields that (now) load clean. Tomorrow I'll tackle the AVG specific stuff.
